The Martin County Sheriff's Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) Team averages one thousand man-hours a year on special assignments, such as:
- Bank surveillance
- Hostage rescue
- Narcotic interdictions
- Search or arrest warrant execution
- Special security details
- Take-downs
Training
SWAT trains on a monthly basis to help maintain proficiency in tactics as well as special weapons training. The SWAT Team works and trains closely with both the Hostage Negotiations Team and the Bomb Disposal Team.
