Major Joshua Kloster holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Liberty University and has over 17 years of law enforcement experience. He is a graduate of the Florida Sheriff’s Association Commanders Academy.
He began his career in 2008 as a Police Officer with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection before joining the Martin County Sheriff’s Office in 2011 as a Deputy Sheriff. He later served in the Special Investigations Unit, was a SWAT Team member, and worked with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
Promoted to Sergeant in 2017, he worked in Uniform Road Patrol, later transferring to the Criminal Investigations Division. In 2020, he advanced to Lieutenant, overseeing units in Community Operations, including Community Policing, School Resource Officers, Behavioral Health, Media Relations, and Court Security.
In 2022, he was promoted to Captain, leading the Community Operations Division before returning to Criminal Investigations in 2024 to oversee units such as General Assignments, Warrants, the Real-Time Crime Center, Special Victims, and Forensic Science.
In 2024, Joshua Kloster was promoted to Major and now leads the Administrative Operations Division, continuing his commitment to law enforcement excellence.
